While I was listening to an American TV news channel discussing the primary elections
for the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates on "Super Tuesday",
I heard one of the political analysts wonder whether a potential candidate should pull out of the race or "continue on".
Great analysis, but poor English !
"Continue" already means "go on", so the word "on" in the expression "continue on" is redundant (unnecessary).
Some other classic examples include :
re-check again
return back
export abroad
estimate approximately
and many others, Try not to write an idea with two words when one is enough.
If you don't understand this Top Tip, you should re-read it again. Oopps…..
